Pains in the back or loin

SYMPTOMS

There are many causes of pains in the back or loin (the area of your back to the side of the spine). Sometimes these pains may originate from the urinary tract. Causes may include kidney stones, a kidney cancer, kidney infections or an obstructed kidney. A careful history, examination and a scan can usually help to identify any significant issues and/or rule out a urological cause of the pains.
